Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul Mateen II star in the action-thriller which follows two bank robbers who steal an ambulance as their getaway vehicle.

Based on a 2005 Danish film of the same name, Abdul Mateen's character desperately needs $231,000 to pay for his wife's surgery. However, in the trailer Gyllenhaal convinces him to steal the slightly more lucrative amount of $32 million (that's quite a leap, Jake).

Things don't go to plan and the two end up with an injured policeman and a paramedic joining them for the ride.

The movie is written by Chris Fedak and also stars Eiza González, Garret Dillahunt and Devan Long.

Bay, who is famed for his bombastic directing style from movies such as 'Pearl Harbour', 'Six Underground', 'Pain & Gain' and the 'Transformers' franchise seems to be sticking to what he does best from what we can see from the trailer.

Gyllenhaal commented on his experience while shooting the film, “I’d heard all these amazing stories about Michael Bay and what it’s like working with him. He’s wild, man, but I adore him. Driving around the streets of L.A. at like 100 mph, shooting guns at helicopters. There are many stories out of that movie that are really fun and crazy.”

'Ambulance' is out in Irish cinemas on February 18th, 2022. Watch the trailer below.
