James Wan has quickly established himself as a modern day horror icon ala Wes Craven and John Carpenter. This despite making the best film in the blockbuster Fast and Furious franchise last year.

While he has the second film in the heavy grossing Conjuring series due in the summer, he's also produced another horror flick that plays on one of our most primal fears - the dark.

Aussie actress Teresa Palmer headlines the extremely creepy 'Lights Out'. It boasts a fantastic headline for the poster "You were right to be afraid of the dark."

Plot wise it looks like a story you've probably heard a million times before, girl dies young, girl haunts the crap out of people with tenuous links to her death/life etc etc. But what peaked our interest here is the scares seem very nicely done.

We'll get to see Lights Out towards the end of the summer.
