We're heading back to The Matrix.

After lying dormant for nearly 20 years, 'The Matrix' is coming back to the big screen this Christmas, and we just got a look at the newest entry in the franchise.

Showing the elaborate action scenes the series is known for, along with some arresting visuals, the latest film in the 'Matrix' saga sees Keanu Reeves' Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss' Trinity pair up for the first time since 2003's 'The Matrix Revolutions'.

'Candyman'' star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is stepping into the role of Morpheus, with new additions to the cast including 'Hamilton' star Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, and Christina Ricci.

Original series director Lana Wachowski returns to the director seat, with screenwriters David Mitchell (who worked with Wachowski on 'Cloud Atlas') and novelist Aleksandar Hemon working alongside Wachowski on script duties.

The film is due out in Irish cinemas on December 22nd, and you can watch the trailer below.
