Everyone's favourite bell-ringer is getting his own live-action remake from Disney.

Victor Hugo’s 1831 novel 'Notre-Dame de Paris,' of which the 1996 animation is based on, is in its early stages of development at Disney. 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' is set to be new live-action movie, and will feature a singing ensemble.

A team has already been recruited to begin development on the project. Playwright David Henry Hwang has been drafter in to write the script, and Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz will pen the music. Mandeville Films and Josh Gad (he of 'Frozen' fame) are set to produce.

'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' is one of many already-in-development Disney live-actions remakes. In 2019 alone, audiences will be treated to the live-action versions of 'Lion King,' 'Dumbo,' and 'Aladdin'. Many more, including 'Cruella' and 'Mulan' will be added over the next few years too.

In terms of casting, nothing has been announced yet as to who Disney has their eye on. Who would you like to see as Quasimodo, Esmerelda, and Frollo? Let us know who you think could be the perfect casting.

To refresh your memory, here's the opening number from 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame,' which is now nearly 23 years old.
