A trailer has arrived for upcoming horror 'The Black Phone' and it is sure to be full of jump scares.

Directing 'The Black Phone' is Scott Derickson, who last directed 'Doctor Strange', starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

Before that, his credits included 'Sinister', 'Deliver Us From Evil' and 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose'.

Thus 'The Black Phone' sees the director return to his roots in horror.

Also of interest is that Derrickson is reuniting with 'Sinister' star Ethan Hawke in this latest.

Only this time, Hawke is playing the bad guy - a magician and child abductor known as "the Grabber."

Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, and James Ransone also star.

The official plot synopsis for 'The Black Phone' reads: "Finney Shaw, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use.

"When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims.

"And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney."
