'The Batman' is probably one of the most highly anticipated movie releases of the year. If you want to see the movie before anyone else, now's your chance.

Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival will host a special screening of 'The Batman' this month.

Presented in association with Warner Bros. Pictures, festival-goers will be among the first Irish audiences to get to see the movie.

In it, Robert Pattinson takes on the renowned titular role and Matt Reeves directs.

Among the cast are two Irish stars. Colin Farrell plays Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot aka Penguin, and Barry Keoghan ('Eternals') plays a GCPD officer named Stanley Merkel.

Gráinne Humphreys, Director of the Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival, said: "We are delighted and honoured to present a very special screening of 'The Batman' easily the most eagerly awaited movie of the year.

"Among the incredible cast, we would like to make a special shout out to our festival friend Colin Farrell whose career we have supported since his very early films, and we are beyond excited to share his new film with Irish audiences.

"We have worked with Warner Bros. for many years and we recognise their support for our Festival by adding this film to our line-up.

"A huge thank you to Matt Reeves and the Warner Bros. team in Dublin for working with us to allow us to present the film."

Also in the cast of 'The Batman' are Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, and Jeffrey Wright. John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, and Andy Serkis co-star.

It goes on general release in Irish cinemas on March 4th.

Tickets for The Batman will go on sale today (Friday 18th February) at 10am.
