Production on the superhero movie in the UK is back up and running.

Following star Robert Pattinson testing positive for COVID-19 while on the set of Matt Reeves' latest blockbuster at the beginning of September, it has been reported that 'The Batman' resumes filming once again. Two weeks previously on September 3, Robert Pattinson, who will play the caped crusader for the first time, tested positive for coronavirus, forcing the whole production to shut down.

But now that the actor has donned the cape, cowl, and eye-liner once again, filming can return to Leavesden Studios, which is located outside of London. Hopefully, this will not disrupt the planned autumn release date of 2021.

'The Batman' will see Pattinson take the lead role of Bruce Wayne and will see the caped crusader be taken down a different path than we've seen him thus far. Joining in on the action for the new franchise will be two Irish stars Colin Farrell and Barry Keoghan. A barely recognisable Farrell has been cast as The Penguin in a minor role, while Keoghan will play a police officer by the name of Stanley Merkel. Paul Dano, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, and Zoe Kravitz will all have central roles too.

As if that excitement ever went away, here's the teaser for the movie to get you even more so. In the teaser we see a much grittier aesthetic for Batman this time around, as well as Nirvana's 'Something in the Way' being used to add that extra chilling effect.

'The Batman' is scheduled for release in cinemas on October 1, 2021.
