We don’t know how the heck this happened but somewhere a casting agent is probably getting fired. It turns out that Damon Herriman, the actor who has been cast as Charles Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, has already been cast as Manson in another production.

Herriman, who is best-known for his work in FX series ‘Justified’ and for playing Lindbergh baby kidnapper Bruno Hauptmann in Clint Eastwood‘s J. Edgar, will play the notorious criminal in the second season of David Fincher’s ‘Mindhunter’ series for Netflix.

According to Collider, he landed the part in the crime series long before being cast in the Tarantino movie. This at the very least proves he’s definitely one to watch, given he’s caught the interest of two major directors in Fincher and Tarantino.

Mind you, he won’t be playing the role in both productions at the same time (which we can’t tell would be convenient or just plain confusing) as reports suggest all of his scenes for the Netflix series were shot in July while Tarantino’s movie is currently in production.

He will be playing the criminal in different epochs of his life as ‘Once Upon a Time’ is set in 1969 while ‘Mindhunter’ is set in the 80s, at which point Manson was in jail.

It is believed that season two will feature the Atlanta Child Murders, which took place between 1979 and 1981. Other serial killers expected to appear include the Son of Sam and, of course, the BTK Killer, who popped up throughout the first season, though he was never mentioned by name.

Collider reports that a representative for Netflix declined to comment on the casting.

‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ will be released on July 26, 2019 with no release date for ‘Mindhunter’ season two announced as of yet.
