Sylvester Stallone is rubbishing claims that he was 'consoled' by British comedian Jack Whitehall at an Oscars afterparty.

Fresh Meat star, Whitehall told The Mirror that he bumped into Stallone at an Oscars after party and had to console him after the Creed star lost out in the Best Supporting Actor race to Bridge of Spies actor Mark Rylance.

Whitehall also claimed that he had to explain to Stallone who Mark Rylance was and 'talked him through all of Mark's performances at The Globe Theatre.'

However Stallone has hit back, taking to Twitter to claim that he's never even met Whitehall.

Stallone then took to Instagram to go into more detail about how Whitehall's claims have been hurtful to him.

Whitehall has spoken to the Daily Mail since Stallone's social media posts and is sticking to his guns. He said "It's sad Sly doesn't remember meeting me. Clearly I made very little impression."

'The same thing happened with Eamonn Holmes at the TV Choice Awards.'  he joked.
