Although some major films have purportedly used iPhone cameras - The Avengers, apparently, was one - there hasn't been one film that's used them from start to finish other than 2015's Tangerine.

That film, which became something of a cult hit, was made on a shoestring budget and a lot of its charm from the fact that it used iPhones. The film itself sparked off questions about the future of film stock versus digital, and now there's another film taking up the practice with a pretty well-known director attached.

Steven Soderbergh, who directed Ocean's 11, 12 and 13 and the upcoming Logan Lucky with Daniel Craig and Adam Driver, has apparently wrapped production on a film that was made using iPhone cameras. The film, known as Unsane, stars Claire Foy and Juno Temple and currently has no studio or distributor behind it.

Obviously, there's no release date set for the film and it remains to be seen if this even makes it in a cinema in the traditional way, but it's an interesting step in how films are made and where they're headed.
