Stephen King has announced that he's writing a sequel to one of his most famous books, The Shining, which was previously turned into a movie by the late, great Stanley Kubrick, starring Jack Nicholson.
The book will apparently centre on the psychic kid in the first film, Danny, 30 years after his Da went postal and decided to do some home redecorating with an axe. The Shining remains one of the best book adaptations ever made, but King was apparently never happy with it. His answer? Vampires. Yep, this version will inexplicably have vampires in it. The now grown up character of Danny will apparently help dying paitents in a hospice when a bunch of the fanged swine's turn up.
It's worth pointing out that King has written a stellar book about vampires, Salem's Lot, which is actually ripped off quite a bit. There is no film deal attached as of yet, but expect that to change soon.
