Stan Lee, best known as one of the creators of X-Men, Spider-Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk and countless other Marvel characters, has been a familiar presence in popular culture for decades - but the most recent reports concerning the comic-book icon are pretty troubling, to say the least.

Earlier this week, THR investigated reports that Stan Lee was allegedly being victimised by a number of people surrounding him, exchanging accusations amongst themselves of manipulating, defrauding, and possibly even physically abusing the 95-year old. It even got to a point where Kevin Smith offered to take Stan Lee into his home to get him away from the people surrounding him.

Just yesterday, Lee filed a lawsuit against his former business manager Jerardo 'Jerry' Olivarez that claimed he was one of several "unscrupulous businessmen, sycophants and opportunists" who allegedly caused "approximately $4.6 million dollars to be transferred out of Lee's Merrill Lynch Account without Lee's authorization," and subsequently fired his own attorneys after many years of representing him.

The lawsuit goes on to allege that Olivarez convinced Lee to donate $350,000 to a fake charity and buy a condominium in Hollywood for $850,000 without Lee's approval. Not only that, Lee's lawyer also says that Olivarez used his position to alter Lee's will.

Olivarez has not yet commented on the lawsuit. You can read THR's full investigation here.
