After 'Black Water: Abyss' became the first new cinematic release after lockdown (hitting cinemas this Friday), we now have another in 'Stage Mother'.

Described as a a heartwarming and uplifting musical comedy drama, 'Stage Mother' depicts the colourful, vibrant world of drag.

A conservative, Texas church-choir director Maybelline (Jacki Weaver) decides to leave her life behind and move to San Francisco, where she has inherited her estranged, recently deceased son's drag club.

Initially hesitant, she soon finds new meaning in life and even becomes a mother-figure to the club's fabulous performers.

Lucy Liu, Adrian Grenier, Mya Taylor, Allister MacDonald, Oscar Moreno and Jackie Beat co-star.

The movie hits cinemas across Ireland from Friday 24 July.

There are also previews on International Drag Day (Thursday 16 July).
