Sopranos creator David Chase has signed up with Paramount to write and direct his first feature film. Plot is being kept under wraps, but Paramount has revealed that it will not be related to The Sopranos, or indeed the murky world of the mafia. All that is known of the film is that it’s an original drama, that Chase will take his time in delivering to the studio. As part of his deal, he’s been given final cut on the film, something that is unheard of for a first time filmmaker. There is still no word on the much gossiped over Sopranos feature; but given its creators elongated launching into this film, one would assume it’s a long way off - if at all.
