Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel has joined the cast of M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender, as Zuko, a member of the Fire Nation. The film is based on the hugely popular kids series from Nickelodeon, and centers on a bunch of kids with special powers, one of whom can bend air, hence the title (say what ya see). Shyamalan is coming off easily his worst film, with The Happening, and needed a complete change of pace - and this fun sounding kid's adaptation could be just it. He didn't become a bad director overnight, apparently that takes three films. I jest, of course; I still think he has bags of talent, he's just lost up his own arse is all. Great to see Patel pick up such a high profile role, though. He's come a long way since Skins.
