The Amy Adams romantic comedy Leap Year, which was due to begin shooting here next month, has been pushed back so Slumdog Millionaire scripter Simon Beaufoy can rewrite the script from Made of Honour scribes Deb Kaplan and Harry Elfont. With the recent arrival of proper director Anand Tucker, it seems that this comedy is being taken very seriously by all concerned. The plot sees Adams' travel to Ireland to propose to her boyfriend on a leap year, as apparently it's a tradition or something. But along the way numerous high-jinx prevent it from happening - in a hugely amusing manner we're sure. This has gone from run-of-the-mill sounding romantic comedy, to something all together different. It may even attract a proper Irish actor the lead role.
