You may have thought that the 'Saw' franchise was running out of steam after nine films - but it seems that this year's 'Saw X' breathed new life into the Jigsaw story.

The film was both a critical and commercial success - which means that its studio Lionsgate are clearly eager to keep the gravy train moving.

They have just announced that there will be another sequel in the series - and it'll be released next September.

'Saw X' explored the backstory of Jigsaw himself, John Kramer, and was pitched as a direct sequel to the very first film and a prequel to 'Saw II'. It saw Kramer travelling to Mexico for experimental treatment on his terminal cancer - and seeking revenge on those responsible when he realises that he has been duped.

No details on 'Saw XI' are known yet, apart from the release date of September 27th, 2024 - but watch this space for more.
