Ryan Gosling is in talks to star opposite Johnny Depp as the titular character in The Lone Ranger, according to The Wrap.
Gosling is beginning to make more mainstream films, having spent the past few years ploughing his trade in some exceptional indie flicks (he should've taken the Oscar for Blue Valentine). Depp has been attached to the film for a couple of years now as Tonto, with his Rango and Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski calling the shots.
I'd watch Ryan Gosling in anything; I think he's an incredibly gifted actor. My patience has worn out with Depp - his quality control for the past few years has been nonexistent.
