Just when you thought the cast of 'Thor: Love and Thunder' couldn't get more awesome, they outdo themselves. Russell Crowe has officially joined the cast of the latest Marvel sequel following Thor, depicted by Chris Hemsworth.
Russell Crowe joins Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, who reprises her role of Jane Foster, as well as Christian Bale, who makes his MCU debut as bad guy Gorr the God Butcher.
It has also been confirmed that Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth and Sam Neill are reprising their 'Thor: Ragnarok' cameos, as confirmed by set photos.
The photos also revealed that Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone will make appearances too.
That's not all either!
Thor's allies Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander) are making a return.
The Guardians of the Galaxy will also pop up, including Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), and Groot (Vin Diesel).
PLUS Sean Gunn and Jeff Goldblum will resume their Marvel roles of Kraglin Obfonteri and Grandmaster.
Taika Waititi, who penned and directed 'Thor: Ragnarok' to great success, is back at the helm, and reprising his character, Korg.
So what do we know about the role Russell Crowe wll be playing?
Well, per Deadline, it's being kept under wraps, but he is in the movie, having been snapped hanging out with the cast all over Australia, where the film is shooting.
The role would appear to likely be a cameo, in the vein of Damon, McCarthy or Neill's roles.
Russell Crowe previously starred in superhero epic 'Man of Steel', playing Jor-El (you might have heard his voice pop up in the recent 'Zack Snyder's Justice League').
He was last seen on the big screen in 'Unhinged', which was released during the pandemic.
