'Puss in Boots' is officially getting a sequel. It arrives a decade after the 'Shrek' character made his solo debut.

The follow-up will be titled 'Puss in Boots: The Last Wish'.

Antonio Banderas is back to voice the feisty feline.

According to Deadline, the story sees Puss discover that having always lived riskily and with a sense of adventure, he has burned through eight of his nine lives.

Now with only one left, he sets out to find the mythical Last Wish and restore his nine lives.

2011's 'Puss in Boots' was directed by Chris Miller and co-starred Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton, and Amy Sedaris.

It made $555 million at the box office against a $130 million budget.

The spin-off contributed to the 'Shrek' franchise's total global box office haul of $3.5 billion.

'Puss in Boots: The Last Wish' will open on Friday, September 23, 2022.

Universal and Dreamworks Animation also announced they've another animated feature coming out in 2022 titled 'The Bad Guys'.

It follows five notorious villains - Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula - as they decide to try to be good.

'The Bad Guys' hits cinemas on April 15, 2022.
