One of the funniest films of the year, Project X, is to get a sequel after it opened to a hugely impressive $21 million at the US box-office.

The documentary style execution has come in for much criticism, as has the film in general - somewhat inexplicably. I genuinely believe that to be because of a generational gap with some critics. Project X is not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a complete crowd pleaser and a lot of fun. The budget was a small $12 million, and when you see the carnage that takes place towards the end that's actually surprising.

Still not sure how a sequel would work, mind. The whole thing with the first film was mystery surrounding it. That said, if it can work for Paranormal Activity for three flicks then what's to say there can't be a Project X franchise.
