James Gray has been approached by Paramount to direct The Lost City of Z, according to Variety. Gray will adapt the David Grann book about British soldier and spy Percy Fawcett who became obsessed with locating an Amazonian society he called Z, which he believed existed in the depths of the jungle. Brad Pitt is reportedly the favourite for the leading role. Gray, whose last film on Irish screens was the Joaquin Phoenix movie We Own The Night, had this to say about the film,"This is a terrific opportunity to do something entirely different for me,It is a story that will be told with an epic scale, with a main character who is larger than life."
