How's this for casting news: David Hasselhoff has signed on the dotted line to appear in the sequel to last year's surprisingly enjoyable romp Piranha 3D. Piranha 3DD will again focus on a ravenous school of prehistoric piranha wreaking havoc on a small coastal town and will also star the enigma that is Gary Busey, along with the returning Christopher Lloyd and Ving Rhames.

This is obviously novelty casting but we here in Entertainment.ie towers reckon that the prospect of seeing The Hoff eaten alive by angry fish can only sell more tickets to the flick, due out at the end of this year. Expect Baywatch references aplenty.
