Sylvester Stallone has been teasing Rocky fans on Instagram – we just hope this isn’t too good to be true.

Stallone has starred in seven films, including the latest, 2015’s Creed, as legendary boxer Rocky Balboa. He also wrote the original characters so it’s a series he can definitely vouch for.

That’s just why his suggestion that the film’s antagonist, Russian boxer Ivan Drago, could have some kind of role to play the next Creed film, carries so much weight.

In an Instagram post, Stallone unveiled a photoshopped image of Creed star Michael B. Jordan (who played Adonis Creed, son of the late Apollo Creed, in the 2015 film) and Drago actor Dolph Lundgren face-to-face in the ring with Stallone watching from the ropes.

“Here’s a chance to stretch your imagination,” Stallone wrote in the caption. “HISTORY WILL ALWAYS REPEAT ITSELF IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER, JUST GOT TO BE READY! … Sins of the Father…. #creed2.”

Is it possible that Drago’s son as well as Creed’s is being referenced by the ‘sins of the father’ quotation? In Rocky IV, Drago killed Apollo, so a chance for revenge, and redemption, could be on the cards.

In another Instagram post from last week, Stallone made similar implications for a face-off of the clans:

Directing APOLLO AND DRAGO , The two best "cinema "boxers that ever lived!… Maybe it's time to try to again?
