The very funny, genuinely nice sort, Paul Rudd, is to star in the independent comedy, My Idiot Brother.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 'Brother' sees Rudd playing "an idealist dealing with his overbearing mother, who crashes into the homes of his three ambitious sisters and, in succession, brings truth, happiness and a sunny disposition into their lives while also wreaking havoc." Jesse Peretz is directing the comedy, which was written by his sister, Evgenia Peretz, and David Schisgall.

Rudd is officially on a roll, with Role Models and I Love You, Man both doing stellar business at the box-office. He's starting to really push himself as a leading man; the Steve Carrell co-starring comedy, Dinner for Schmucks is set to hit screens in August.
