A prequel to the 2009 horror movie 'Orphan' has commenced production.

The movie is titled 'Orphan: First Kill' and sees actor Isabelle Fuhrman return to play the iconic role of Esther.

Fuhrman is also known for her role as Clove in 'The Hunger Games' movies. She played Tessa Johnson in 'Masters of Sex'.

That isn't the only casting announcement for the movie either.

Julia Stiles ('10 Things I Hate About You', the 'Bourne' series) is joining Fuhrman on the screen.

Production for the movie is currently underway in Winnipeg.

William Brent Bell, who helmed 'The Boy' franchise, is directing. David Coggeshall wrote it, and Dark Castle Entertainment and Entertainment One are producing.

According to reports, filmmakers are using a world-class makeup team and forced perspective shooting to accommodate Fuhrman to bring Esther to life once more. The actress was 12 at the time of shooting, and she is now 23.

The plot synopsis, per Deadline, reads: "Leena Klammer orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family.

"But Leena’s new life as “Esther” comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost."

The 2009 film 'Orphan' also starred Vera Farmiga and Peter Sarsgaard. It made $78.8 million at the box office against a $20 million budget.
