The re-release of 'Deadpool 2' sounds like a strange thing to happen, given that the original movie only released in May of this year. However, the new version will see Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool get pumped full of Christmas cheer, along with no dropping of any f-bombs. 'Once Upon a Deadpool' is set to be a child-friendly version, and has even filmed a number of extra scenes.

20th Century Fox will release the movie on December 12th, and will run up right until Christmas Eve. The studios have reportedly called for the release of the film to tap into the Chinese market, where Deadpool currently doesn't exist. Also, Reynolds has said that Fox have been asking for a family-friendly version of Deadpool since day one.

"Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006. I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said ‘Yes’ on two conditions.

"First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…" Reynolds hired 'Wonder Years' actor Savage to film some new sequences, including a new bedtime scene.

'Once Upon a Deadpool' will also see a portion of ticket sales be donated towards charity. Cancer charity 'Fudge Cancer' has even changed it's name for the child-friendly release.

We're sure Disney will be watching very closely how well 'Once Upon a Deadpool' does in theatres, given how the film rights will be theirs in the new year.

The re-release will hit theatres on December 12th. Here's hoping that some Irish cinemas will be showcasing 'Once Upon a Deadpool' too.
