If you're looking for a spine-chilling, uncomfortable watch when cinemas reopen, we think we've found the perfect movie.

This summer's movie releases are going to be a little bit different than usual. There will of course be the usual blockbusters such as 'Black Widow', 'Cruella', 'Dune', and 'Fast & Furious 9' - but there's been a huge influx of horror and thrillers incoming too ('A Quiet Place II', 'The Conjuring 3', 'The Night House'). And 'Censor' is certainly another one for horror fans to look out for.

Starring Irish actor Niamh Algar, 'Censor' follows one woman's discovery of something unsavoury while working as a film censor. Billed as an elegant and disquieting immersive thriller, jdging from the triler below, we'd have to agree.

Niamh Algar has been a rising star on our screens over the past number of years. As well as Irish productions such as 'Calm With Horses' and 'The Last Right', she's also been a main star in HBO's 'Raised By Wolves' and miniseries 'The Virtues'.

The movie is directed by Welsh creator Prano Bailey-Bond. She was named a "Director to Watch" by Variety for 2021, and her back catalogue is made up of short features such as 'Nasty' and 'The Trip'.

Here's the trailer for what is set to be one unsettling movie.

The film's official synopsis is as follows: "When film censor Enid (Niamh Algar) discovers an eerie horror video that speaks directly to her sister’s mysterious disappearance, she resolves to unravel the puzzle behind the film and its enigmatic director – a quest that will blur the lines between fiction and reality in terrifying ways."

'Censor' is scheduled for release in cinemas this June.
