From the director of Drive comes Only God Forgives, the latest movie from the wonder that is Ryan Gosling. It looks deliciously dark, violent and appears to boast as many intense stares from the Goslingator as we got from his first collaboration with Nicolas Winding Refn. Hot off the press is a brand new trailer for the movie. Opening with a monologue from Ryan's character's mother (Kristin Scott Thomas), explaining his less-than-usual upbringing, we get some insight into the background of our central protagonist. You can expect Only God Forgives to be an oddball of a movie, and very stylistic indeed. Also, Ryan Gosling's looking better and more fit than ever. That is, until he gets to the big fight. Please don't quit acting, Ryan, it'll be a pretty dull cinematic landscape without you.

As for the plot: Julian (Gosling) lives in exile in Bangkok where he runs a Thai boxing club as a front for the family's drugs smuggling operation. When Julian's brother Billy is killed, their mother, Jenna (Kristen Scott Thomas), arrives in the city. She wants revenge and forces Julian to find the killer. Julian's contacts in the criminal underworld lead him directly to The Angel of Vengeance, a retired police officer who knows everything and who is both Judge and Punisher. Jenna demands that Julian kill The Angel of Vengeance, an act that will cost him dearly.
