A new trailer for 'First Man' has us more sure than ever that it'll be a contender this Oscar season. The biopic is the third feature from writer-director Damien Chazelle of ‘Whiplash’ and ‘La La Land’ fame, and sees him reunited with his star of the latter, Ryan Gosling.
Gosling plays world-renowned astronaut Neil Armstrong in the film, which chronicles the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969.
Claire Foy, who also has ‘The Girl in the Spider’s Web’ coming out before the end of the year, plays his wife, Janet. Rounding out the cast are 'House Of Cards' alum Corey Stoll as Buzz Aldrin, Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler, Ciaran Hinds, Christopher Abbott, Patrick Fugit and Lukas Haas.

'First Man' has its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival tonight and hits Irish cinemas on October 12th (which isn't all that far away!).
