If one of your favourite 'day off' past-times is watching 'Murder, She Wrote' repeats - but you've exhausted every one - there's good news.

A movie based upon the iconic murder mystery series is in the works, with the writers of the movie 'Dumb Money' attached.

The series ran from 1984 to 1996 and starred the late Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher, a mystery writer who becomes involved in solving murders in her fictional town of Cabot Cave, Maine.

Universal are developing the film, although work cannot commence on it until the writer's strike is resolved.

It will be produced by Amy Pascal, who has credits on Greta Gerwig's 'Little Women' and 'Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse'.

As for who can take over the mantle of Jessica Fletcher from Lansbury (who passed away in October 2022)? Let the speculation begin...
