Fans of horror film 'Midsommar' can opt to see 30 more minutes of messed up material.
For those of you unfamiliar with it, 'Midsommar' relates the story of a couple who travel to Sweden to attend a festival unlike any other.
It stars Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor and Will Poulter and has been getting great reviews.
Ari Aster directed the horror. He previously helmed 'Hereditary', which was a major hit last year.
Addressing fan questions in a Reddit AMA yesterday, Aster said he has "at least" another half an hour he's planning to add back in.
A fan asked: "Will we be able to see the Director's Cut of Midsommar? I know that you've said that roughly 1hr 20min was cut from the first version. I'd love to see it as a part of the film (not just deleted scenes as a special feature)."
Aster answered that he's "Working on extended cut now. Won't be 1 hr 20 mins longer, but will be at least 30 mins longer."
Regarding what the scenes might consist of have already been indicated in an interview Aster did with Gamespot.
He told the website: "There was a very big argument between Dani and Christian in the middle. That was the only time that we see Dani fight back and argue with Christian, and that was a big debate in the edit room, about whether we keep that or lose that - if you told me that I would have cut that scene before we went into production, I would have told you that you were crazy."
He also told USA Today that also cut were "a lot of scenes that helped illustrate [Dani] was losing her grip on her sanity."
The film is already 140 minutes in length. Thus a half hour more would give it a running time of almost three hours. That's a lot of horror.
No specifics were given as to when fans can see the cut. It's likely that it'll be available on a Blu-ray release later in the year.
