More details are being revealed about the upcoming Superman reboot. Director Zack Snyder, who John recently spoke to about his newest film Sucker Punch, has cast Michael Shannon in the role of super-villain General Zod. Zod, who of course was originally portrayed by Terrence Stamp in the original franchise, is a Kryptonian with similar powers to Superman but lacking in that wholesome do-good morality that the Man of Steel has in abundance. Largely unknown actor Henry Cavill has been cast as Superman, with Amy Adams portraying Lois Lane and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner playing Clark Kent's adoptive parents. The film is expected to be released around December 2012, so don't hold your breath just yet.
