Based on a true story, 'Can You Ever Forgive Me?' follows Lee Israel (McCarthy) as she starts forging letters from deceased writers and playwrights as a result of being in debt. Pal Jack Hock (Grant) volunteers to help, but soon the FBI are investigating them both.
McCarthy and Grant each received Oscar nominations for their performances in the film. Writers Nicole Holofcener and Jeff Whitty are also nominated for Best Adapted screenplay.
During the interview, the actors talked to us about their love of Ireland.
McCarthy, who moved to New York to kick start her career in the 90s, talked about returning to the setting for 'Can You Ever Forgive Me?' Grant discussed some of the inspirations for his character. Lastly, both revealed some of the precious items they keep at home.
McCarthy recently opened up about being asked about her 'tremendous size' and being called 'sloppy' by interviewers in the past. She is known for such films as 'The Heat' and 'Bridesmaids' and TV series 'Mike & Molly' and 'Gilmore Girls.'
Her 'Can You Ever Forgive Me?' co-star Richard E. Grant's credits include 'Gosford Park' and 'Withnail & I'. He also stars in the upcoming 'Star Wars: Episode IX'.
