There was a 'Mean Girls' reunion last week. And while the full length version of it was lovely and full of reminiscing, one part of it just did not work.
'Mean Girls' stars Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert recreated that famous four-way phone call in which Regina badmouths Gretchen and Karen.
Now Rachel McAdams was a total pro in the scene. And in fairness, Amanda Seyfried has just had a baby s fair play to her for being on the call at all!
But the whole thing just came off as cringey. It probably didn't help that McAdams was the only one who knew her lines with the other actresses barely taking their eyes up from looking down at their scripts.
I mean it's a 2 minute long scene - don't they know every line by now like we do??
They kept cutting back to the original scene in the movie too, which wasn't a great sign...
Lindsay Lohan shared the clip on Instagram, writing: "Mean Girls Phone Call! reunited."
It ends with the words "Vote on November 3rd!"
The full reunion went live last week and also included Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer, Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Franzese, Jonathan Bennett, Tim Meadows and Rajiv Surendra. It was to raise awareness for HeadCount with Katie Couric.
