Rest easy comic book fans: You won't have to listen to hordes of lads and lasses losing the plot about Bradley Cooper's beauty when Guardians of The Galaxy hits our cinema screens, because the Silver Linings Playbook star has will just be, as was rumoured earlier this year, lending his vocal chords to walking, talking, weapon wielding Rocket Raccoon.

Marvel confirmed this weekend that "Rocket Raccoon has finally found his voice", announcing that Oscar nominee Cooper will join Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Zoe Saldana and Glenn Close (to name but a few) in James Gunn's upcoming flick. Terrible Photoshop skills aside, here's what the little fella actually looks like in concept art.

They didn't go into too much detail now mind you, nor did they confirm the all but confirmed rumour that Vin Diesel is apparently on board to voice Groot, the talking tree. For those of you who aren't familiar with the Guardians this may all sound rather strange but fear not, if they do this properly it could make for one fantastic tale.

Sure wasn't Chris Pratt singing its praises to IGN this week too? "I think we’re getting good stuff" Pratt gushed. "I don’t know what to say about it other than it might be - Oh! It’s the greatest movie of the 21st century! That’s what I’ll say. It’ll be the Citizen Kane of movies other than Citizen Kane." We're going to take that one with a nice big pinch of salt thanks Chris.

Guardians of the Galaxy is due to hit cinemas on August 1st 2014.
