You may not know this, but there's been arguments for decades - actual decades - about what's the correct order to watch the Star Wars trilogies in.

Some believe you start with the original trilogy - that's A New Hope, Empire, Return AND THEN go on to the prequels. Others say you should bypass the prequels entirely (we'd tend to agree) and just focus on Revenge Of The Sith and Rogue One before going into A New Hope and the rest.

All these arguments can now be put to rest as Mark Hamill AKA Luke Skywalker AKA Beardy McTitmilker has finally come up with the definitive, argument-settling answer to the question nobody asked.

"I always think the way that they were chronologically released," explained Hamill in a new interview with Collider.

"Now, I may be wrong, because if you’re starting out fresh, you may go I, II, III, IV, V, VI, Rogue One? It’s hard! I mean, wait a second, Rogue One comes before IV, so you go I, II, III, Rogue One, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII. I’m guessing. But it must be jarring for young kids, because the technology is so advanced now, so Star Wars looks primitive compared to the prequels where CGI just flourished."

It's true, the CGI does differ wildly between Return of the Jedi and The Last Jedi - but you know what? Nobody really cares. In fact, now that Disney are set to take over the rights to the original trilogy pretty shortly, there's been an outcry to have the original versions of the film re-released in cinemas in all their vaguely dingy glory.

Not only that, there's entire communities of editors, programmers and special effects gurus who've dedicated time, energy and resources to create de-specialised versions of the originals - but we digress.

What do you make of Hamill's ordering? Is he right? Let us know in the comments!
