Okay. He looks the exact same. But aw! Our favourite little shell with shoes on (because there are so many) is back on our screens with a trailer for his new film.

A24 released the trailer for what we anticipate will be the sweetest film of the year, 'Marcel the Shell With Shoes On' featuring the shell that first stole our hearts back in 2010. In the original Youtube clip with over 195 thousand likes and a surreal 32 million views, we meet Marcel as he squeaks around his house, sharing details of his life and experiences, "Guess what I use to tie my skis to my car? A hair. Guess what my skis are? Toenails from a man". He quips, "sometimes people say that my head is too big for my body and I say compared to what?"

The trailer sets the film up to be an absolute tearjerker — Marcel lives with his grandmother (also a shell) with whom he watches TV and eats dinner on the cutest little table that looks like it's made out of matchsticks and even has a tablecloth and everything. She calls him "Marcello". We can't cope.

But Marcel goes on a quest to find his family, spreading the word far and wide that he's looking to find people just like him — the ones he hasn't seen for what feels like forever. Okay, it's only been two years but maybe shells are like dogs and 2 years is really like 15.

Jenny Slate, who created and voiced Marcel, has waited long enough to give him back to us. And we cannot wait.

'Marcel the Shell With Shoes On' will be released in cinemas on June 24th this year.
