Duncan Jones, Tony Scott, Matt Reeves and Zach Snyder are the names that Deadline.com are saying Warner Bros. and Inception producer Emma Thomas are circling for the new Superman film.
The studio are really pushing on with the project, with Mad Men star Jon Hamm most recently linked with the Clark Kent/Man of Steel role. But it's thought that David Goyer's script would feature a younger version of Superman, although that draft is still to be turned in. Jones and Snyder are the newest names to the list, while Cloverfield director Reeves is also being linked with the Wolverine sequel, currently gearing up at Fox. Of the bunch only Scott and Snyder has experience with bigger budgets, but that was a similar story with Chris Nolan and Batman Begins, so don't rule out Jones.
There are some seriously impressive directors there, and more will surely be mentioned in the coming months. Once it's not Scott, then I'd be happy with any of the others - he's not the director he used to be.
