Although there's talk - just talk, mind - that Leonardo DiCaprio is being actively sought to play The Joker in a Martin Scorsese-produced origin film, it looks he might have his eyes set on another comic-book legend.

At this year's HasCon and reported by AIPT.com, living legend Stan Lee spoke about DiCaprio, and how the two of them are neighbours. According to Lee, DiCaprio's a huge fan of Marvel. "He has all the walls covered with big Marvel posters and everything. He’s got very good taste."

Lee went on, saying that DiCaprio had talked to him about playing him in a movie. "He’s a neighbor of mine and we were talking one day some months ago, and he said, ‘Boy it’d be fun to do your story on the screen.'” So I said, ‘Well, I’ll audition you.’ Gotta make sure the guy can do it," said Lee.

DiCaprio isn't just some actor scoping for a role, either. DiCaprio's father, George DiCaprio, was heavily involved in the underground comix scene in the '70s as a writer, publisher, and distributor - so it's clearly something he has form with it.

Granted, the catch to all of this is that there is - currently, anyway - no word on a Stan Lee biopic or anything of the sort. However, these days all it takes is for an actor to say they're interested before studio executives line up to put the thing together.

Don't be in the least bit surprised if a Stan Lee biopic is announced six months down the line.
