Well, this shouldn't come as a surprise, especially considering it was too strange to be true.

Leicester City's historic triumph in the Premier League has gone into the history books and now, it's making it way to the cinemas. A screenplay is currently being developed by the writers behind The Fighter, which will focus both on Jamie Vardy's journey from factory worker and non-League player to being a member of one of the most celebrated teams in sporting history.

A report by Deadline states that the producers behind The King's Speech are looking to put Leicester City's story on the big screen, with the screenwriters currently working on a draft. Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson, the Oscar-nominated screenwriting duo, said that Leicester City's triumph is  "a once-in- a-lifetime story about the fulfillment of impossible dreams and the strength of the human spirit. It’s also a hell of a lot of fun."

"Eric and I had just signed with Josh Varney at 42 for representation in the UK when Josh asked me if there was a story out there I really wanted to tell. Without hesitation I said, ‘Jamie Vardy’s and Leicester’s unlikely climb to the top of the Premier League.’ The story represents everything we love in a movie."

It's early days yet and there's been no word on casting, but you've got to imagine they're approaching Jamie Dornan to play Vardy.
