In news that would shock absolutely no-one, it's just been announced that The Lego Movie is getting a sequel. A release date of May 26, 2017 has been set. Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan have been announced as screenwriters, although there's no news on whether the original cast will be joining the sequel.
Jared Stern previously wrote the script for The Internship with Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson and contributed to the screenplay for Wreck-It Ralph. Michelle Morgan's biggest writing credit to date is the Kristen Wiig indie comedy, Girl Most Likely.
The Lego Movie has so far made a blockbusting (see what we did there?) $206 million at the box-office and received FIVE STARS from ourselves. If you haven't seen the Blooper Reel, never mind the film itself, you are totally missing out. Check it below.
