Last month LCD Soundsystem's documentary - Shut Up And Play The Hits - premiered to a house of over 600 eager fans at the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin's Smithfield. So unprecedented was the level of demand for this documentary - garnering critical acclaim left, right and centre - the documentary will now be available to be enjoyed by fans nationwide, from the comfort of their own home, on Volta (the Irish owned and operated video-on-demand website operated by Element Pictures).
Shut Up And Play The Hits charts the final days of LCD Soundsystem culminating in their final gig held at Madison Square Gardens, NYC. The Guardian described it as "a gorgeously shot concert film", while we at entertainment.ie awarded it with the full five stars; not something we tend to give out willy nilly. "LCD Soundsystem have left a tremendous legacy behind and Shut Up And Play The Hits will be remembered for what it is - The Last Waltz for the electric generation", says our John Balfe.
