The disgraced 62-year-old Hollywood actor has been charged in the UK for incidents ranging between 2005 and 2013.
Actor and two-time Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey has been charged with four counts of sexual assault in the UK.
Three men lodged the formal complaints against the 'American Beauty' star, with the decision to charge him unveiled today by the UK's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). The official file was sent to the agency over a year ago by the Met Police.
Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said: "The CPS has authorised criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four counts of sexual assault against three men.
"He has also been charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The charges follow a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation.
"The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Mr Spacey are active and that he has the right to a fair trial."
Three of the complaints relate to sexual abuse in London, with another in Gloucestershire. He is also charged with an additional serious sexual offence in the capital.
The former 'House of Cards' actor and his sexual misconduct was first brought to light in 2017 by Anthony Rapp. Many others have come forward to accuse the actor of sexual abuse, six separate incidents of which happened in the UK.
Spacey was controversially cast in an Italian movie 'L’uomo Che Disegno Dio' ('The Man Who Drew God') as a police officer investigating a sexual abuse case in 2021.
