In case you thought there was only one more Marvel Cinematic Universe release to get excited for this year - 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' - in swoops these madcap characters to remind us of one of the most magical times of the year.

The trailer for 'The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special' is here and it includes the introduction of the newest MCU recruit - Kevin Bacon.

The Baconator (which would totally be his superhero name if he had one) will be making a special guest appearance in the festive Disney+ release, seen in the trailer below running away from Drax (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff). You see, Star Lord (Chris Pratt), isn't feeling all that great since Gamora (Zoe Saldaña) decided not to re-join the space-travelling group of misfits, and the Guardians want to give him a present he'll never forget to cheer him up.

And so it seems likely that even though the Multiverse is in play in the MCU right now (even Wolverine is back!), Marvel Studios are choosing to forget that Bacon played the X-Men supervillain Sebastian Shaw in 'X-Men: First Class' from 2011. Or maybe we'll get a minor tip-of-the-hat reference. somewhere along the special release.

Judging from the trailer, 'The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special' doesn't seem to be anything else other than just a fun Christmas edition featuring the cast of Karen Gillan (Nebula), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot) and of course Cosmo the Spacedog (who will be voiced by Maria Bakalova). Hopefully, there will be a bit more of a meatier subject that unfolds, which will presumedly set up 'The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3', set for release next May.

Here's the trailer, which is James Gunn's first project with Marvel Studios since his well-publicised firing from Disney in 2018.

'The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special' begins streaming on Disney+ from November 25.
