Irish helmer Neil Jordan has signed up to direct an adaptation of Neil Gaiman'sThe Graveyard Book. I haven't read the graphic novel but it does sound fantastic. Its set around the life of a young boy, who climbs out of his house as his parents are murdered by a mysterious geezer named Jack. He ends up in the local graveyard, where he is raised by ghosts of the Casper variety (friendly), who rename him Nobody (that can't be good for his self esteem.) It's a truly fantastic sounding concept, and I'll be definitely hitting Eason's to have a look for a copy post haste. Jordan had been attached to write and direct Heart Shaped Box, but has evidently put that on the backburner to concentrate on this. His next film is the Colin Farrell starring Odine.
