There has been no shortage of interesting revelations to come out of the nasty sparring between Johnny Depp and his former business managers.
In the past few months we've been treated to tidbits such as the fact that Depp reportedly spends $30,000 a month on wine and he once paid $5m to have the remains of Hunter S. Thompson shot out of a canon.
However this latest story may just be the juiciest tidbit yet. According to The Management Group, Depp's sense of entitlement is so "clear and epic" that he doesn't even memorise his lines. He has them fed to him through an earpiece.
“Depp insisted that this sound engineer be kept on yearly retainer so that he no longer had to memorize his lines,” attorney Michael Kump wrote in an amended complaint according to The Hollywood Reporter. The cost of employing a sound engineer for the job cost Depp hundreds of thousands of dollars according to his former managers.
If you think that their claim is a little bit dubious, apparently Kirsten Dunst inadvertently confirmed it back in a 2008 interview with Vulture.
“Johnny Depp has music playing in his ear when he acts,” she said at the time. “He has an earbud. That’s why he’s so great.”
