For a time, 'The Matrix 4' and 'John Wick 4' were both scheduled for May 2021. It would have been Keanu Reeves month and it was going to be glorious. The pandemic caused delays for both features and while 'The Matrix Resurrections' has just made its way to cinemas, the latter action movie has had worse luck...

We'll be waiting that bit longer for 'John Wick Chapter 4' as Lionsgate has announced a 2023 release date for the movie.

It now hits cinemas on March 24, 2023.

Previously, the release date for the latest 'John Wick' movie was May 27, 2022, so it's been pushed back by almost a year.

According to reports, part of the reason for the delay is because 'Top Gun: Gaverick' has the same release date in May of next year.

Moreover, the fourth 'John Wick' installment has experienced delays in production as it is filming around the world, and we're in a pandemic.

The only other movie on the film's new release date is Sony's untitled George Foreman biopic.

'John Wick: Chapter 4' stars returning cast members Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick.

Joining the cast are singer Rina Sawayama as Akira, as well as Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown in undisclosed roles.

A fifth 'John Wick' movie is currently in pre-production.
