Although The Rock has spun off with Jason Statham for 'Hobbs & Shaw', Vin Diesel is still trucking away with the ninth - that's right, NINTH - 'Fast and Furious' movie.

In an Instagram post this weekend, Vin Diesel announced - in his usual weird, cryptic, not at all ridiculous way - that John Cena has joined the cast of the as-yet-untitled 'Fast and Furious' movie. Details are light at the minute, however the movie has a 2020 release date slated.

John Cena is best known for his wrestling career, but has more recently turned to acting. While he's mostly had small or supporting roles, last year's surprisingly good 'Bumblebee' proved he's capable of more. He's also shown an adeptness with comedy, turning up in the likes of 'Blockers' and 'Trainwreck' with Amy Schumer.

Another reason, one that's probably not so clear, is the fact that Vin Diesel has clashed on set with Dwayne Johnson. Both have admitted as much in interviews, but there's clearly more going on with another wrestler-turned-actor joining the cast.

'Fast and Furious 9' arrives in Irish cinemas on May 22nd, 2020.
