Irish director John Carney had taken some flak the past few days for comments he made about actress Keira Knightley, who starred in his flick, Begin Again alongside Mark Ruffalo.

You likely know the story by now, but essentially he wasn't particularly complimentary and likened the Oscar nominee to a supermodel, not an actress.

Since the comments in the British Independent, numerous directors have come out in support of Knightley waxing lyrical about how great she was to work with.

Carney has since written an apology via his Twitter, and he doesn't make any excuses at for his comments.

Hopefully that's that. Carney is a superb director and Knightley has proven herself a strong actress; let's just get back to the movie making now.
